Description

Purple amethyst earrings, two oval faces of crystal in beaded silver, hanging under a sculpted vine bar.

An amethyst face, not a cut stone
The drop is not one smooth stone. It is a piece of druse, dozens of small crystals standing side by side. We cut the oval in our Tbilisi studio and leave the points alone.

Violet, and lighter in places
The color is not even across the face. Some patches are deep violet, others almost colorless. That is a record of how the crystal grew, not something done to it afterwards.

A vine above each drop
The silver bar above the stone is not plain. It is a twisting branch with small buds and leaves along it. That is the part of the earring closest to the ear, and the part someone facing you sees first.

A short drop for every day
The stone hangs just below the lobe rather than far down the neck. A leverback closes behind the ear, so nothing works loose during the day.

One of one
Every stone is chosen and set one at a time. The pair that reaches you will be close to the photograph and never a copy of it.
