Description

These small pyrite earrings hang two pale gold ovals in rims of silver beads.

Pyrite in a pale gold face
Pyrite is an iron sulfide and it crystallizes in cubes. Across these ovals the small crystal faces sit side by side and catch light one at a time. The color here is the palest pyrite we set, closer to silver gold than to deep brass.

A rim of silver beads
Silver beads run all the way around each oval and hold the stone from the edge. The silver is darkened in the hollows, so the stone reads brighter against it.

A ribbed bar above each drop
The lever above each stone is not plain. It is cut with fine vertical lines, so the fitting carries the same hand as the setting below it.

Made in our Tbilisi studio
We shape the stone and leave the crystal faces alone. Every bead is soldered one at a time.

Small and close to the ear
The drop is short and sits near the lobe. The hinged lever closes behind the ear, so it cannot slide off during the day.

One of one
Every stone is chosen and set one at a time. The piece that reaches you will be close to the photograph and never a copy of it.
