Description

This jade necklace carries one deep green oval in a crown of silver beads, on a soft black cord.

Deep green jade
The color is dark and leans slightly toward olive, with a paler band running across the face where the light falls. We dome the stone and take it to a polish, so the surface gives back one soft highlight.

Beads all around the rim
Silver beads of different sizes ring the whole oval and hold the stone from the edge. They are darkened in the hollows and bright on top, so the rim reads as a broken circle of light.

A grooved bail and a veined back
The bail above the stone is a wide plate cut with vertical grooves and slotted so the flat cord passes straight through it. The back of the setting is closed and worked with a fine branching texture. It is the side nobody sees and the side that rests against the skin.

Made in our Tbilisi studio
We cut and shape the stone ourselves, then build the silver around it, one bead at a time.

A cord, not a chain
The flat black cord lies against the skin and catches no light of its own, so the green is the only color you see.

Every stone is chosen and set one at a time. The piece that reaches you will be close to the photograph and never a copy of it.
