Description
Silver labradorite earrings, two polished oval cabochons set in oxidized 925 sterling silver.
Why labradorite flashes
The effect has a name: labradorescence. The stone grows in fine alternating layers, and light reflects between them. Blue appears from one angle, green from another.
Matched as a pair
Both stones fire at the same angle, and both carry a pale band along the lower edge. Labradorite does not repeat, so the two were selected together.
Finished on the back
Each setting has a closed silver back, textured by hand in our Tbilisi studio. It is the side nobody photographs and the side that rests against the skin.
A ring of silver beads
Small beads run right around each bezel and hold the cabochon. The silver is oxidized dark so the flash reads stronger.
Leverback, not a hook
The fitting closes behind the ear, so the earring cannot slide out during the day.
One of one
Every stone is chosen and set one at a time. The piece that reaches you will be close to the photograph and never a copy of it.
