Malachite Ring - Raw Green Block in Bright Silver

This malachite ring stands a raw green block on a band made of two twisted silver strands.

A squared block, not a dome
Malachite is a copper carbonate mineral, which is where the green comes from. We did not take this stone to a smooth dome. We cut it as a block with flat planes meeting at angles, and the lighter and darker greens turn where the planes turn.

Set lengthwise along the finger
The block is set with its long side running along the finger rather than across it. It stands well above the band, so from the side the ring reads as tall and from above it fills the space between two knuckles.

Bright silver, not darkened
The claws and the band are left bright rather than oxidized dark. Against pale silver the green stays cool and blue-leaning instead of being pushed toward black.

Two strands make the band
The band is not one piece. Two textured strands run side by side and climb into the setting, and every claw is bent to the edge it grips. We shape the stone and build the silver around it in our Tbilisi studio.

It adjusts on the finger
The band is open underneath, where the two ends pass each other, so the ring settles where you want it with no size to choose at checkout.

Every stone is chosen and set one at a time. The piece that reaches you will be close to the photograph and never a copy of it.
