Description

This pyrite necklace carries a small gold oval in a rim of silver beads, on a soft black cord.

Pyrite crystals, packed into an oval
Pyrite is an iron sulfide and it crystallizes in cubes. Across this oval dozens of small cube faces sit side by side and each one catches light on its own. The color is a brass yellow with a metallic luster.

Small on purpose
This is not a piece that asks for attention. The oval stays small and reads as one warm point below the collarbone. It works with everyday clothes and it works in the evening.

A rim of beads and a fluted bail
Silver beads of different sizes run all the way around the oval. Above it sits a short bail cut with vertical grooves. The silver is darkened, so the gold of the stone reads brighter against it.

Made in our Tbilisi studio
We shape the stone and leave the crystal faces alone. The back of the setting is closed and textured, the side nobody sees and the side that rests against the skin.

A cord, not a chain
The soft black cord lies flat against the skin and catches no light of its own, so the gold is the only color you see.

One of one
Every stone is chosen and set one at a time. The piece that reaches you will be close to the photograph and never a copy of it.
