Description

This raw pyrite necklace carries an oval of large gold cube crystals in a crown of silver prongs.

Pyrite in large cube faces
Pyrite is an iron sulfide and it crystallizes in cubes. On this stone those cubes are big. Some faces are almost flat squares and they send light back like small mirrors. The color is a brass yellow with a metallic luster.

The crystals stand above the rim
The stone is not sunk into its setting. The faces rise above the silver, so the top surface is uneven and there is as much to see from the side as from the front.

A crown at the rim, openwork at the back
Small silver prongs run all the way around the oval and hold the stone from the edge. The back is not a solid plate: a branching pattern is cut right through it, the same hand as the front, on the side that rests against the skin.

Built in our Tbilisi studio
We shape the stone and leave the crystal faces alone. A polish would take off the flat faces, and those faces are the whole reason to choose this stone.

A cord, not a chain
The soft black cord lies flat against the skin and catches no light of its own, so the gold is the only color you see.

Every stone is chosen and set one at a time. The piece that reaches you will be close to the photograph and never a copy of it.
