Pink Rose Quartz Earrings - Oval Drops in Silver

These rose quartz earrings hang two milky pink ovals in rims of silver beads, on leverbacks.

Rose quartz, and why the pair is not identical
The pink comes from microscopic mineral fibers inside the quartz, and those fibers never lie the same way twice. That is why no two rose quartz stones cloud alike. Both ovals here are domed and polished, so each gives back one soft highlight instead of a sparkle.

A rim of beads, and claws over the face
Small silver beads ring each oval, and twig-shaped claws reach in over the stone at the edge. The silver is darkened between them, so the rim reads as a line of shadow around the pink.

A ribbed fan above each drop
Above each stone sits a tapered silver bar, wider at the top and cut with fine vertical lines. It is the part that shows from the side, so it is worked as carefully as the front.

The back is worked too
The back of each setting is closed and carries a fine branching texture, on the side that rests against the skin. We cut both stones and build the silver around them in our Tbilisi studio.

Leverback, not a hook
The hinged lever closes behind the ear, so the drop cannot slide off during the day.
