Description

Black tourmaline earrings, two oval stones that turn blue and violet when the light moves.

Tourmaline, black until the light finds it
Straight on, the stones read close to black. Tilt them and the whole face goes peacock: blue, violet and green at once.

Shaped by hand, left unpolished
We give each stone its oval form in our Tbilisi studio and stop before the polish. That rough, splintered surface is exactly what throws the color.

Claws over a beaded rim
Small silver beads run all the way around each stone, and a few claws reach in over the face to hold it. Above each drop sits a short ribbed bar.

A pair, chosen together
Raw stones do not repeat. These two were picked side by side so they match in size, shape and the angle their color comes up.

The lever locks shut
A hinged leverback closes against the back of the ear. Nothing can slide off during the day.

One of one
Every stone is chosen and set one at a time. The piece that reaches you will be close to the photograph and never a copy of it.
