This adjustable aquamarine ring sets a raw teal stone on a band worked as a twig.

Aquamarine, and why it suits a hand
Aquamarine is the blue variety of beryl. It is hard enough to resist scratches while it is worn, and that matters more on a ring than anywhere else, because a hand meets everything first. This stone is teal rather than pale, with lighter clouding drifting through it, and its face is left as it is rather than polished flat.

A rim of silver beads
Small silver beads run the whole way round the stone and hold it from the edge. This silver is left bright rather than darkened, so the rim and the stone read at a similar weight and neither one takes over. We shape the stone and build the silver around it in our Tbilisi studio.

A band worked as a twig
The band is not smooth. Bark and small knots are worked into its surface, and that texture carries the whole way round the finger.

Two leaves above the stone
One end of the band rises past the stone and ends in two silver leaves, veined and turned away from each other on a short stem. Worn, the stone sits to one side of the finger and the leaves rest above it.

It adjusts on the finger
The band does not close. One end carries the stone and the other ends in the two leaves, and the two stop short of each other. Press them a little closer or ease them apart and the ring holds where you set it, with no size to choose at checkout.

One of one
Every stone is chosen and set one at a time. The ring that reaches you will be close to the photograph and never a copy of it.
